"He's got a good surgeon, and a good God"

Chester's surgery went well. He's resting now, very tired. Anna was able to spend the morning and the evening at the hospital, staying busy cooking "clear broth" during the hours of the surgery.

Thank God the first big step to wellness (surgery to remove the mass in the colon) is done. We got some preliminary biopsy results last night, and we are still waiting on more results. It will be about 2 weeks before we have any more news, including staging. We won't share any of the conjectures for now as nothing is confirmed, but please... Pray with us that the results will be favourable for Chester and our family; for cancer "staging," possible paths for treatment, and genetic testing results.

We are grateful for people who have supported us in surprising and beautiful ways this week with tumeric (you know who you are), phone calls, gifts, and written and spoken prayer. Waiting for this step was emotional. We are confident that this surgery was the right step for today, and relieved that the tumor has been removed. All in all, it's been an exhausting but good day.
