Home after surgery

This week's sermon at our church will be on Luke 19:41-48. The theme is "What's going to bring you Peace?" We thank Pastor Dan Spaude from Red Deer who had planned to come preach months ago on this topic. Being at home after a stay in a hospital is peaceful.

The last night of Chester's stay in the hospital, he was moved to a "hallway room" which meant the lights didn't turn off, and there was only a curtain between him and nurses walking by through the night. He had a friendly neighbor this time who shared both encouragement and also some personal post-surgery horror stories about his guts getting displaced internally. Thankfully Chester's surgeon is confident that his incision recovery will be straightforward, and we have a post-op appointment to look forward to on Sept. 3.

Home is better. The nights are quiet, the windows open here - fresh air! There are our kids to smile at. He's been able to take daily walks over to Prairie Winds park and enjoy the surprisingly green August grass. Fewer needles; time spent reading, sleeping, and together with family (including Chester's parents!).

Show me... again, Dada.
Show me... again, Dada.

"Peace" is still an daily battle, even in peaceful surroundings. Please pray that the Lord would continue to refresh our souls as we rest and prepare for more healing.

"Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever."

It was lovely to hear your voice this morning at church and that you're feeling so much better. God is great!
